Born in 1988 in the Paris area, Célia Coëtte is a visual artist, graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2016 with congratulations.
In a multidisciplinary practice, turned mainly towards sculpture-installation and action, her practice evokes vernacular rituals such as dance, party and carnival, in an economy of materials, while tackling overconsumption and the body exhaustion. The landscapes she creates are very often frozen and skeletal and the suggestions of the bodies are so many empty shells that she comes to carry to breathe new life into the presence of the living body.
Célia Coëtte participated in the 63rd Salon de Montrouge in 2018, exhibited at the Maison des arts de Malakoff and was supported by the Parc Saint Léger. Until now, she has exhibited in several galleries such as the Laure Roynette, PCP, Bertrand Grimont or the Michel Journiac gallery. She has worked with several curatorial collectives such as the Collectif Diamètre in 2022, Embrayage in 2020 and Empreinte in 2018.
In 2024, she was selected for the international residency Fabrique at Fondation Fiminco. She had also completed several residencies, notably a esearch residency at Maison Artagon or the Escaut architecture agency in Brussels in 2019 and at Echangeur 22 in 2021.
Finally, she regularly exhibits in collective studios such as Le Houloc, Artist-run-spaces such as DOC! or Zone Sensible, or alongside artists-no-spaces as with the collective Ygrève or Thundercage.
